About Us

Our Mission

The Prateek Sadhu Foundation is dedicated to ensuring the sustainability and equitable future of India's cultural landscape by safeguarding its indigenous culinary and agricultural heritage. We champion initiatives that empower local communities to preserve their traditional wisdom, foster ecological resilience, and create sustainable livelihoods, thereby connecting heritage to prosperity in a rapidly changing world.

Our Objectives

The Foundation is dedicated to the preservation and revitalization of indigenous culinary and agricultural heritage as a pathway to community empowerment and sustainable development. We achieve this by bridging traditional wisdom with modern needs—systematically documenting ancient food practices, promoting native crops and heritage foods, and fostering sustainable livelihoods for indigenous communities through market linkage and knowledge transfer. Our mission is to ensure that the unique stories, traditions, and ecological wisdom of India's remote communities are not only preserved but become the catalyst for a more resilient, equitable, and flavor-rich future.

The Foundation's Guiding Philosophy

The Prateek Sadhu Foundation is the culmination of Chef Sadhu's work and a call to action for others who share his passion. It is an invitation to work together, to empower communities, and to build a future where every meal tells a story of collaboration, sustainability, and shared prosperity.

About Chef Prateek Sadhu

At the heart of the Prateek Sadhu Foundation is the visionary chef, Prateek Sadhu, whose culinary journey has been a lifelong exploration of India's diverse and often-forgotten flavors. A celebrated chef known for his innovative approach, Prateek's work has always been rooted in a deep respect for local ingredients and the traditions that shape them. His culinary philosophy, shaped by years of working in some of the world's most renowned kitchens, goes beyond the plate. He believes that every ingredient tells a story—a story of the land, the people, and a heritage that deserves to be celebrated.

From the Kitchen to the Community

While building a celebrated career, Chef Sadhu's travels took him deep into the remote corners of India. It was during these experiences that he witnessed firsthand the immense knowledge and resilience of indigenous communities. He saw how their traditional agricultural practices and age-old culinary methods were not just ways of life, but also powerful tools for sustainability and self-reliance. He also observed the challenges these communities faced in preserving their heritage in a rapidly modernizing world.

These experiences were a turning point, transforming his culinary passion into a profound commitment to social impact. He realized that the preservation of indigenous traditions and the empowerment of local communities are two sides of the same coin. This led to the foundational idea for the Prateek Sadhu Foundation: a platform to bridge the gap between traditional wisdom and modern-day needs.
